CMTV signed a new distribution agreement with the television rights management and international distribution company Thema. The contract between the Cofina group station and the French group company Canal+ was announced this Saturday.

In a note published on the website of newspaper Correio da Manhã, Francisco Penim, responsible for CMTV‘s internationalization, states that “it is an enormous satisfaction to be close to these new communities that speak Portuguese. These are people that look forward to CMTV because it is relevant to them“.

The agreement will allow an increase in the coverage of the channel within the diaspora, making it available in more French-speaking operators in French-speaking territories such as Belgium, Luxemburg, Switzerland and France, where CMTV was recently made available on the operator Free. It should be reminded that CMTV is also available in Angola, Mozambique, Cape Verde, Canada and the United States of America.

CMTV joins the portfolio of channels whose international distribution is ensured by Thema. The catalogue also includes A Bola TV and Canal Q.

Thema is a company of the media group Canal+, dedicated to the distribution of linear and non-linear television channels in several territories, managing the availability of more than one hundred and eighty channels in several geographies. CMTV is a generalist channel of information content of the Cofina group, which appeared in 2013. Currently, it is the most watched cable channel in Portugal.
