It was supposed to be in June. Then it was postponed to July, and later to August. It was again postponed to September and then to October. But the exit didn’t happen! Now, MEO has postponed once again Channel 1 Russia ‘s exit from its grid

The information is provided by Altice Portugal ‘s subsidiary on its website, indicating that the channel “will no longer be available on MEO’s channel offer” as of 30 November

A small number of customers have questioned on the operator’s official forum about the maintenance of the channel on air, with CNN Portugal reporting on the issue, considering Channel 1 Russia as “one of the main vehicles of Vladimir Putin’s narrative”. To the same report, MEO justified itself by saying that the transmission of Channel 1 Russia ‘s signal “as it has not been banned” by the European Commission’s resolution to prevent the signal of several Russian channels such as Russia Today or Sputnik. ” MEO fully complies with the legal provisions in force and its contractual obligations,” the operator’s official source stressed to that report

Channel 1 Russia is a Russian public channel, directed to the Russian-speaking community in the diaspora. In Portugal, it is a MEO exclusive
