“A poem for those who think they don’t have time to read”. This is the motto of the podcast “Dias Úteis” (“Working days”, in portuguese) , a project of the Associação de Ideias and which will have a second season

The first episode of the podcast appeared on 21 March 2021 (World Poetry Day) and, since then, more than four hundred episodes of between one and three minutes have been made available. In a note sent to our offices, the mentor of the project Filipe Lopes says that the duration of each episode is “the right one to listen to between commuting and work, or even while brushing your teeth”

Available from Monday to Friday at 7am, each episode of “Dias Úteis” features readings of poems, texts in poetic prose or excerpts from short stories or novels. “With the podcast “Dias Úteis” we intend to democratize the access to reading”, clarifies the association, adding that the second season will keep the objective, besides “some extra episodes with questions to writers and other artists and a larger amount of texts recorded with younger audiences“, through the work developed with “national high schools, but also with Portuguese Language students from the Camões Institute around the world”. However, the association stresses that the podcast “is produced independently and without any kind of financial support or sponsorship, in a spirit of mission to promote culture and literature”

The new season will premiere on 17 October on the podcast page and on the main streaming platforms
