Station’s director-general considers the journalist a “television creative”

A few hours after the official announcement of Sandra Felgueiras at TVI, Correio da Manhã announced the hiring of Pedro Mourinho for CMTV

In the “CM Jornal” of 20 hours of this Monday, Carlos Rodrigues, Editorial General Director of Correio da Manhã and CMTV considered the arrival of Mourinho as “one of the most significant transfers in the recent history of media in Portugal”. In the channel and in the newspaper, the journalist will remain as information anchor on set and will have a management position as of this week, taking over the “New Projects” management: “He’s a television creative”, the responsible assures.

The change between the newsroom of Queluz de Baixo to that of Luciana Stegagno Picchio Street was also described as a “perfect marriage”, allowing the cable channel to continue “growing”: “Our range of anchors is increasingly professional, increasingly credible and will continue to deserve the trust of the Portuguese”, Rodrigues assures.

“It’s with great pride that we will receive Pedro Mourinho”, the director said.

It should be remembered that the hiring of the journalist had been under negotiation since August

Carlos Rodrigues took advantage of his presence on the main newscast of the cable generalist station to announce a new investigative journalism program. “Doa a quem doer” (“No matter who it hurts”) is the name of the project authored and presented by reporter Tânia Laranjo. “It will deal with current affairs of justice in Portugal, whether in the current affairs of blood cases or white-collar cases,” explains the general director, adding that it is a six-episode serie.

Furthermore, the responsible for the editorial of both media states that there will be a reinforcement of the political and economical editorials, having announced the return of Pedro Santana Lopes for the channel’s commentary: “He is a major commentator”, he said.

CMTV is a generalist channel of information content of the Cofina group, created in 2013. Currently, it is the most watched cable channel in Portugal
