The VII Coimbra World Piano Meeting – Summer Festival has again as main stage the cities of Coimbra and Figueira da Foz. The 2022 edition was planned in two periods Winter Festival – which took place during the winter – within the contingencies of the pandemic -, and the Summer Festival which runs until September 4th, and once again shows the country the best young national and international talent on the piano.

This seventh edition will pay tribute, in the Opening Concert, this afternoon, August 30, at 18h30, in the Grand Auditorium of the Conservatory and Coimbra, to the renowned Maestro Achilles Delle Vigne – founder of the International Academy of Music “Achilles Delle Vigne” – who passed away in January this year. The Closing Concert takes place as part of the Figueira da Foz International Prize, organised in partnership with the Municipality of Figueira da Foz, and is one of the highlights of the event.

A very restricted number of young people, publicly pre-selected two days earlier in Coimbra, will perform in the final as soloists of the Orquestra Filarmonia das Beiras, interpreting extremely complex and virtuosic works, before a prestigious jury composed mainly by the teachers of the festival, and where the winner of this award will be selected. This concert will take place on September 4th, at 21h30, at CAE – Centro de Artes e Espetáculos da Figueira da Foz. The entrance is free, with ticket withdrawal at CAE’s box office.

O Coimbra World Piano Meeting (CWPM) is an unprecedented nationally and internationally renowned event, organised by the prestigious International Music Academy “Achilles Delle Vigne” (A2DV), which annually welcomes over 100 participants
